Data Logger Used in Life Saving Application
Human organs harvested for transplant are only viable for 6 hours and must be contained/transported within a temperature range of 2-8°C (35-46°F); the organ must be kept cold but not frozen to avoid causing irreversible cell damage. Often the organ is placed in a cooler filled with ice, so it is critical to have accurate temperature monitoring.
