Practical applications for White and UV strobes in the Printing and Converting Industries. As Flexographic speeds increase and the use of hybrid substrates in packaging are added, on-press strobe inspections are becoming mandatory to meet the demand. Using a pure white strobe flash, allows the QC inspector to ‘freeze-frame’ a position on press to determine its color quality, ink density, tint screens, and registration. |

How to use a Strobe and Laser Tachometer for speed measurement Using the Nova-Pro integrated laser guided tachometer to synchronize a strobes' flash rate Learn how to manually synchronize a strobe to a rotation speed, and why to use the Laser Tachometer feature. Strobes are useful tools for measuring speed. Strobes can freeze-frame or stop-action moving objects when their flash rates match the speed of the object movement. The use of Monarch Instruments' laser guided synchronizing feature sets the flash rate of the strobe instantaneously to the speed of the object, and will adjust the flash rate as the rotational speed fluctuates. |

What is Virtual RPM, Phase and Time Delay with Nova-Pro stroboscope? Technical Notes on using advanced stroboscopic, or Strobe Techniques, for Phase Delay, Time Delay, and Virtual Revolutions Per Minute VPRM. This HOW TO guide outlines the process steps and application reasons for using these features. Video examples show the difference between Phase Delay and Time Delay, and why to use Virtual RPM, also know as Slow Motion, Slo-Mo, and Reverse Motion when working with Rotating, Linear Traveling Movement, and Reciprocating Motion in Printing, Converting, Sorting, Counting, Inspection, and Quality Assurance Control, for human visual assessment and camera vision systems. Video examples demonstrate the Nova-Pro® Strobe stroboscopic stop action, freeze frame, how to use and why it is effective in process manufacturing and inspection. |

Cross Field Lighting techniques with strobes for inspection Examples of using stroboscopes for inspection with cross field lighting for human eye and camera vision systems. By lighting from Bright Field (frontal), Dark Field (side lighting), and Backlighting (rear illumination) in a near-simultaneous sequence the combined illumination provides unique visualizations for process manufacturing quality inspectors. |

Turn your Stroboscope into a Laser Sensor Tachometer To get the most accurate speed measurements of rotating and reciprocating movements, consider an optical laser sensor for triggering the strobe, thereby taking the guesswork out of flash rates and providing dead-stop freeze-frame visualizations. The Nova-Pro® by Monarch Instrument has an integral laser sensor that can be used with the 100, 300, and 500 models. This simple proprietary module can be changed in seconds and is auto-sensed by the Nova-Pro on-screen user interface, making the Nova-Pro Stroboscope the easiest, most accurate speed assessment tool available. |

Strobe and Vibration Analysis Using a Nova-Pro® handheld stroboscope from Monarch Instrument, V-TEK demonstrates resonant frequencies inherent in machine vibration and vibration analysis. By matching the rotation frequency of the MVAT6-01 the strobe flashing ‘freeze frames’ or creates an optical stop-motion of the rotor. This also captures the cantilever beam which is moving in resonant harmonics with the machine vibration. By adjusting the strobes flash rate (1822 fpm – 1862 fpm) while the rotation of the machine is a constant (1844 rpm), the strobe illustrates ‘Virtual Slow Motion’ both in forward and reverse rotation. Note the cantilever beam’s swaying movement. Many of our customer's use the Virtual Slow Motion features built into all Nova-Pro® and illumiNova™ strobes to visualize a condition which appears during a rotation or reciprocating action of a machine. |

Compact Smart Laser Sensor and illumiNova Stroboscope Technology The Monarch Instrument Compact Smart Laser Sensor is an optical sensor with both digital pulse and analog outputs, for non-contact reference signals used with Stroboscopes and Vibration Analyzers. The CSLS will recognize surface irregularities found on rotating shafts and linear moving webs, where embedded targets or areas of contrasting light values are perceived. It is sensitive enough to recognize a signal up to 65 feet away and can easily work with an angle of offset between 45 degrees to 75 degrees. |
